Today marks the official start of construction of our project Atlas on the Colosseumplot in Rotterdam South. Commissioned by OCRT (AM and Heijmans), the design for Atlas is made in cooperation with GAAGA and Flux landscape architecture and based on the original Feyenoord City masterplan by OMA and LOLA.

Positioned between the Varkenoordse Viaduct and Vredesplein, Atlas forms the transition between the intimate, multicultural Hillesluis neighbourhood, the larger-scale developments of Parkstad and the future high-rise district called Waterkant. The plan includes 650 homes, a health centre and 2.200 m² of social and commercial facilities. A series of connected inner gardens will form a green chain that enhances biodiversity and creates new pedestrian routes.
